Fete Chinoise with Narces & Carrera y Carrera

Love Between the Racks x Narces, Carrera y Carrera Shanghai pendant

Last weekend, I’ve had the pleasure of attending Fete Chinoise thanks to the staff of the sold out event. I was very fortunate to walk the red carpets of the Shangri-La hotel in this stunning gown designed by Toronto-based womenswear designer, Nikki Wirthensohn for NARCES adorned with 18-karat Shanghai pendant earrings and necklace by Carrera y Carrera.

So what is Fete Chinoise? It is a luxury gala experience engaged in customs passed to us from our elders, which we micmic and repeat – specific to the Chinese culture. The afternoon was filled with Toronto’s best in events, fashion by Holt Renfrew, Birks and Christian Paunil, delectable o’dourves and fine cuisine catered by Shangri-La hotel, beauty by Cle de Peu, as well as design and photography all around.

My day started bright and early with my hair styled by my friend, Rainey Lin, and my makeup done by myself. Rainey and I hurried to Carrera y Carrera to pick up my star jewellery that was the finishing touch to my red carpet look. I was running late. When I arrived, I walked into a room full of guests listening to proud speeches made by authoritative guests and fine alcoholic beverages poured by Remy Martin XO to relax my fast beating heart. Throughout the night, I ate, drank, and visited each room that was beautifully decorated by various sponsors of the event.  It was a wonderful experience and I can’t wait to do it again next year.
