Parisian inspired fall outfit

Love Between the Racks - Parisian inspired outfit, beret

The beret is such a French hat. It’s a paradox we’ve heard over and over again relating to the infamous hat.  Why does the beret have such a strong attachment to Parisians? Well the flat-crowned hat was first adopted by the French military and was a part of their uniform. The hat became popular after among nobility and artists across Europe, while in the western culture, it was worn as sportswear in early 1920’s and later as a fashion statement. Today, the head piece has come a long way and it is currently available in many different colours, patterns and textures. I am keeping my eyes peeled for a velvet and leather one to add to my collection.

Today’s outfit I styled the iconic French hat with a camel tone turtleneck, knit strapless dress with fishnets and slingback pumps for a Parisian inspired fall look. This year, I did not have a Halloween costume so I went to a NYX Halloween party wearing this outfit to impersonate a stereotypical Parisian for my costume. I know… it wasn’t as creative as I wanted it to be but it was a quick fix and my last resort. I’ll do better next year (ha-ha!).

Happy Friday everyone!
