casual friday | summer statement jacket

Summer has begun, but the weather hasn’t been the greatest yet with the rainfalls and humidity causing our hair to frizz uncontrollably. I mean, I’ve put in great hours to look good for the patio or even a day like today with full list of errands before flying off to Los Angeles tonight.  I am extremely excited to visit the boyfriend and shoot a beautiful fall collection by Laura Siegel. But first, I have a ton of errands to run and it’s a casual Friday today so I’m going with a casual attire, or grungy?

My grungy look is complete with an oversized jacket, gathered crop tee, ripped jeans, and booties.  Roll up the sleeves and the bottom of your ripped jeans for an effortless vibe. It is probably the most colourful outfit I’ve worn lately despite my monochromatic wardrobe.  A summer jacket is important as the temps drop below 20 degrees celsius in the evenings.  I found this army green jacket on sale at Club Monaco!  Totally loving this summer sale season, which retailers set almost everything on the sales floor for sale to make room for the fall collection coming August.

If there is one colour besides black, white and beige I’d wear, it would be a good kind of olive green. It compliments every skin colour and it never goes out of style every season. Seriously speaking, I work with clients from all kinds of ethnicities and I found that olive green to be the one colour that totally works for all skin colours. Try it for yourself!
