Dove Real Beauty Sketches, #wearebeautiful
I love everything that Dove is doing for their natural beauty campaign. This video truly touched my heart and it’s so true that we should be more grateful to our natural beauty and spend less time trying to fix the things we don’t like. We are never happy with the way we look and always have the tendency to fix certain things about ourselves to feel and look better. I’m one of those victims who compares herself to models from fashion magazines and runways. I know I’m terrible. I’d go on lots of diets, starve myself and spend lots of money trying to look perfect. Honestly, I am unhappy sometimes when I look at myself in the mirror, pinpointing every negative thing I want to fix and do to make myself look better. I spend everything I make making myself look and feel better. However, watching these kinds of videos are a wonderful reminder of how beautiful we are and we shouldn’t go under the knife, get injections or anything that crosses the line to change or fix anything. There are better ways of doing this, like exercising and eating healthy. We should always upgrade ourselves, the feeling after accomplishing something is always better and worth talking about when someone throws you a compliment of how great you look.
“Women are their own worst beauty critics. Only 4% of women around the world consider themselves beautiful. At Dove, we are committed to creating a world where beauty is a source of confidence, not anxiety. So, we decided to conduct a compelling social experiment that explores how women viewtheir own beauty in contrast to what others see.” – Dove
Sigh…that’s it, I’m not removing the two beauty marks on my face anymore. Call it what you want, beauty marks, ugly marks, moles, etc. For the longest time, I never liked the top mark that I was born with and the bottom one appeared last year. I thought, “Why oh why did it have to appear on my face and not my body!” It would have made my life easier and inexpensive if I only had one to remove. Now I have two to remove!!! I wanted to remove them to have a clear and clean face with no marks on it whatsoever. But everyone close to me was very against my idea of removing them, and still is. A couple days ago, I was applying make-up and while I was waiting I decided to take a bunch of selfies. After going through a bunch of pictures of my face, I started to like these ugly marks on my face. I mean beauty marks, they are called beauty marks for a reason. Plus beauty marks and freckles makes you look unique.
